  • 3

    Site preparation & groundworks

The existing surface is removed and a solid MOT Type 1 sub-base is laid, compacted and graded to correct drainage falls. All drainage and inspection covers are set to the right levels.

  • 4

    Concrete poured & imprinted

High-quality ready-mix concrete is placed, levelled and screeded. Colour hardener is applied, release agent added for natural shading, and the chosen pattern pressed in at the optimum curing stage.

  • 5

    Joints cut & surface cleaned

We return to cut carefully positioned contraction joints. The surface is then thoroughly cleaned with specialist products and high-pressure washing to reveal the full depth of colour and pattern.

Frequently asked questions

What is imprinted concrete?

Imprinted concrete — also known as stamped concrete — is a durable surface that is patterned and coloured to replicate the appearance of natural stone, slate, brick, cobbles and other premium paving materials.

How long does imprinted concrete last?

When installed correctly and maintained properly, imprinted concrete can last for decades. Regular cleaning and resealing will help preserve its appearance and protect the surface from weathering.

Does imprinted concrete crack?

All concrete has the potential to develop hairline cracks over time. We minimise this risk through proper ground preparation, reinforcement and professionally installed contraction joints designed to control natural movement.

Is imprinted concrete slippery?

No. Imprinted concrete is designed to provide good grip under normal conditions. Anti-slip additives can also be incorporated into the sealant for additional safety if required.

How much maintenance does it require?

Imprinted concrete is a low-maintenance surface. Occasional sweeping and washing will keep it looking its best. We recommend professional pressure washing and resealing every few years to maintain colour and protection.
